

Wilbur Jennings Taylor, III
Wilbur Jennings Taylor, III, 54, of Wilmington, NC, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021 after a lifelong battle with kidney disease.
He was born in Wilmington, NC, October 23, 1966, son of Jeanne Jaques Amory of Newport News, VA and the late Wilbur Jennings Taylor, Jr. of Wilmington, NC.
Mr. Taylor was a 1985 graduate of New Hanover High School and graduated from The College of Charleston in 1990 with a BS Degree in Political Science. He also attended The College of William and Mary. Following graduation, he worked in both the mortgage banking and building supply industries serving in both management and outside sales capacities with such companies as Norwest Mortgage, Ferguson Enterprises, Inc., Stock Building Supply and Best Distributing. He later established and served as owner and president of Atlantic Roofing and Remodeling and Taylor Building Corporation, Inc. He was a member of St. Andrew’s On-the-Sound Episcopal Church, Home Builders Association in Wilmington NC, Raleigh, NC, and Charleston SC, Cape Fear Club, James River Country Club, Kappa Alpha Order Beta Gamma Chapter at The College of Charleston, and Boykin Spaniel Society. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, boating, and golfing.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his sister Dr. Dawn Taylor Hunt, her husband Dr. William Stuart Hunt, and their son William Stuart Hunt, Jr. of Newport News, VA, his stepmother Penney Eaker Taylor of Wilmington, NC, his stepsister Brandy Dianne Speas of Charlotte, NC, and many wonderful aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Jennings Taylor Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Amar Jaques, Sr.; his father Wilbur Jennings Taylor, Jr.; his sister Mary Eleanor Taylor Compton; his nephew Braden Carlton Compton; and his stepfather Guy Carlton Amory Jr.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, NC 28409, with Rev. David Goehring officiating.
