Zack Lilly was a remarkable man. He was full of life and love. He was kind, compassionate and loved his family and friends vigorously. None more than his son Jaxon. He strived to be the best father he could and give his son an amazing life. He had big hopes for their future together as well as his own personal dreams and goals. He took pride in every breath his son takes and loved him more than anyone. There wasn’t a person that knew him that didn’t know how much he loved his son. His mother and grandmother were his best friends and the people he looked up to most. He really wanted to make them proud. He loved his family so much and loved being close to them all.
He was a phenomenal chef, constantly trying new recipes and things outside the book. He was loved by his coworkers and several of them felt like they learned a lot from working with him. He always had music playing in the back where they would cook and was a constantly uplifting everyone’s spirits.
He loved music of all kinds. Everything from hip hop to emo to rock. He was incredibly talented at his drums and loved to create music. He was in a band with a friend and excited about projects they were going to work on. He would talk about music with whoever would listen.
He wasn’t judgmental and made people of all types feel welcome and comfortable. He never wanted to be put into a box or labeled and he never did that to others either. He was someone you could to turn to in your dark hours and know that they really cared. He had no problem coming to the aid of his friends. He was that friend that would sit with you all night just to make sure you were ok, even if it inconvenienced him.
One of Zack’s favorite authors was Charles Bukowski; his quote “The free soul is rare, but you know it when you see it - basically because you feel good, very good, when you are near or with them” sums up how Zack made people feel. He could make you feel on top of the world. He was intelligent, intellectual and charismatic. He was also charming and silly. Actually he was hilarious. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends alike.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory:
A son, Jaxon Lilly; parents, Steffani and Craig Larrimore; grandparents, Carole Whipp, John Lilly, Rhonda Tyner; uncle, John B. Lilly; aunts, Missy Lilly and Christine Holbrook; cousins, Christopher, Dakota and Lucas Holbrook; ex-wife, Rebecca R. Lilly; and his many family and friends.
