

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Carole Ann Boykin Farmer, who departed this life peacefully in the early hours of Saturday, August 2, 2025, at her home in Wilson, North Carolina, surrounded by her loving family. Carole was born in Hagerstown, MD on July 8, 1946, to John Thomas Boykin and Louise Wyant Boykin who both precede her in death.
She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend. She was married to her beloved husband of over 57 years, Robert “Bob” Marion Farmer, Sr. of Wilson, NC. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and family. She was the proud mother of three sons: Robert Farmer and his wife Emily of Clayton, NC; John Farmer and his wife Allison of Durham, NC; and Will Farmer of Wilson, NC. Carole’s greatest joy came from being “Grams” to her six grandchildren: Jack, Carly, Emily Carole, Robert, John William, and Mary Beatrix, each of whom she adored deeply. She is also survived by her sister Jane Boykin Strickland and niece Anita Strickland Hales both of Wendell, NC.
A private graveside ceremony will be held at Maplewood Cemetery, and friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Thursday, August 7th at 6:30 PM at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Wilson, NC. 1407 Forest Hills Rd NW, Wilson, NC 27896 Details and her obituary will be available soon through Thomas Yelverton Funeral Home.
