Charles C. Maddrey December 22, 1937 – January 15, 2017 Charles C. Maddrey, 79, of Wilson passed away Sunday at his home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St., Wilson. The Rev. Bill Groce will officiate. Mausoleum entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Charles was a fireman with the City of Wilson for 7 years, the proprietor of the Kountry Kitchen for 20 years, retired from the Security department at Wilson Medical Center after 15 years of service and served with the NC National Guard. He was a longtime member of Daniels Chapel FWB Church. Charles was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Sybil Tomlinson Maddrey of the home; three sons, Chuck Maddrey and girlfriend, Karsen of Selma, Gene Maddrey and wife, Stacey of Sims and Selby Maddrey and girlfriend, Arianna of New Bern; and 13 grandchildren, Patrick, Brooke, Dawson, Jordan, Hunter, Thorne, Leah, Dylan, Ethan, Caleb, Charlie, Kinzli and Mav. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles O. Maddrey and Flonnie Lucas Maddrey. The Maddrey family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation for the care and attention given to Charles by the staff of Hospice of Wilson Medical Center, including Becky, Susan, Shelia, Joyce, Julie, Mary, Sharon and Monique; the staff at Wilson Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center; and his physicians, Dr. Hal Woodall, Dr. Sunil Chand and Dr. Xiang Wang.
