MARY GREY HARDISON OWENS Mary Grey Hardison Owens, 87, of Wilson, went home to the Lord on Monday, August 3, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jonah F. Owens; her parents, Cleveland Hardison and Polly Tomlinson Hardison, and her son-in-law, Peter D. Allen. Mary was born in Wilson County, September 5, 1927, and had worked as time keeper for the Hackney Brothers Body Co. for 42 years until her retirement in 1987. She is survived by her daughter, Joni Allen, her half-sister and three half-brothers and her special baby and co-pilot Opie Her family would like to thank 3HC Homecare and Hospice for all of the compassionate care given to Mary during her illness, special thanks to Paulette, Belinda, Amy, Brooke, Crystal, and Charlett and Shawn for all of their special care. We also wish to thank Kitty Askins Hospice for all of the care they provided as well. Visitation will be Wednesday at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St., Wilson, from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by graveside funeral services in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Dewayne Eakes will officiate assisted by Rev. Michael Coggins.
