ROBERT LEE BASS Robert Lee Bass, 85, husband of the late Margaret Robbins Bass, of Chesapeake, VA, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 in Virginia. Born in Wilson, November 8, 1930, a son of the late John J. and Susan J. Batts Bass, he had been a Wilson County resident until moving to Virginia a short time ago. He had been employed as a grocery store merchant until his retirement. He is survived by his step-son, William D. Moore of Raleigh; his step-daughters, Cathy Jane Pollard and her husband Gene of Wilson, and Carolyn George and her husband Wendell of Chesapeake, VA; his brother, William Earl Bass of Elm City; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. His family will receive relatives and friends at the Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2708 Nash St., Wilson, Saturday from 12 noon until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. www.thomasyelverton.com.
