Rudolph H. “Rudy” Creekmore, Jr., 77, of Goldsboro, died Tuesday. A memorial service will be conducted 5:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church, 206 Country Day Rd., Goldsboro, NC, with Pastor Berry House officiating and Charles Sugg assisting.
The family will receive friends Saturday, from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., at the church fellowship hall and other times will be at home.
Rudy was born in Wilson, NC to Ethel Vick Creekmore and the late Rudolph H. Creekmore Sr. He was a 1960 graduate of Emmanuel Academy, Franklin Springs, GA. Rudy was a licensed Funeral Director, working in funeral homes in Danville, VA, Richmond, VA and Wilson, NC. He most recently worked as an OTR truck driver, employed with Hartt Transportation, Sumter, SC. Rudy loved to play the piano and sing. He was a Minister of Music/Choir Director for two churches in Virginia. He also sang for both weddings and funerals, in addition to singing in the church choir. Rudy loved spending time with his family and friends. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his beloved wife of thirteen years, Shirley Sugg Creekmore; a special daughter, Christy Miller and husband, Danny, of Charlotte; a beloved granddaughter, Brady Miller; his mother, Ethel Vick Creekmore of Greenville; one sister, Brenda McAllister of Greenville; a special aunt, Annette Mitchell of Goldsboro; and two grand-dogs, Gracie and Preston.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph H. Creekmore, Sr., and in-laws, Fred and Bessie Sugg.
The Creekmore family would like to express their deep appreciation to the Oncology Department of Vidant Cancer Center and Vidant Inpatient Hospice, Greenville, NC, for the wonderful care provided to Rudy.
