My dad, Doel Day, always spoke very highly about Ambrose, especially in their working relationship at Carwood.  My prayers and thoughts are with your family at this time.

I just learned of Ambrose's passing. I always felt close to Lorene and Ambrose. I am actually named after Lorene . The McElhannon's and Jackson's were close while growing up. I have the Jackson family in my prayers. Ambrose will be missed. Sincerely, Julia Lorene McElhannon (Fayette's daughter)

I just heard of Ambrose's passing today via my 2nd cousin - Emory Sharpton,Jr. of Winder.

Ambrose and I kept in touch over the years. We were actually not-too-distant cousins as Kathleen Jackson married Vernie Sharpton many moons ago. "Uncle Vernie" as my Daddy used to call him was my Grandaddy Raymond's  and Emory Jr.'s brother.

We always talked about having the same birthday - October 17th.And I always teased him about being older.

Until last year when Ambrose finally admitted it...he was two years older and not one as he had always claimed ! 

I will miss Ambrose as will a great many others.

My family, The BOB SHARPE FAMILY, loved this GODLY man, especially my sweet departed Daddy. Brose will forever have a place in our hearts and heaven is again a greater place today because "That sweet smile,voice and loving hearted man, AMBROSE, is walking among the angels!!"  We here will miss you deeply dear dear friend.

Ambrose was one of the finest men I ever knew.  Always a gentlemen, kind, friendly, hardworking and loyal.  He will be missed.  Godspeed to Ambrose and God's love and comfort to all his family and many, many friends.

I enjoyed my time with Ambrose at City Hall and he will be missed and forever remembered. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.


A good man and a southern gentleman has died.  I am so proud to call him a friend since 1st grade.
