Cynthia Gunter Roper

Cynthia Gunter Roper, age 67, of Winder, GA passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023. She was a lifelong resident of Winder. She was a member of Free Chapel in Gainesville. Cynthia loved her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ above all. She loved her husband with all of her heart. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, taking care of her chickens, shopping, traveling and spending time with her husband, children, and being a Nana to her grandchildren and many others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sybil Nell Pierce Gunter and William Royce Gunter; her sister, Bobbie Wood; and her brother, Douglas Gunter. Cynthia is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Eddie Roper. She is also survived by her sons: Chad (Cristi) Bishop of Bishop, Booni (Tiffany) Bishop of Commerce, Charles (Kristen) Roper of Maysville, and Tillman (Jenna) Roper of Winder; daughters: Tami (Jon) Martin of Maysville, and Kimberlee (Brock) Dunn of Flowery Branch; brother, Ricky Gunter of Winder; sisters: Brenda (Raymond) Bramlett of Auburn, Gwen Daniel of Winder, and Nita (Henry) Loggins of Winder; and brother-in-law, Delaney Wood of Winder. She leaves behind 21 grandchildren: Cortni Gillespie, Camron Conner, Matthew Abernathy, Justin Bishop, Landon Bishop, Colton Bishop, Wyatt Bishop, Rhett Bishop, Bryson Roper, Malachi Roper, Chloe Roper, Hunter Rider, Chase Roper, TJ Roper, Dylan Barrett, Natalie Dunn, Brody Dunn, Jacob Dunn, Lincoln Dunn, Maddox Dunn, and Kennedy Townsend; and 2 great grandchildren: Alden Gillespie and Aiden Conner.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, on Thursday, December 14 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 15 at 4:00 pm in Smith Memory Chapel.
