Donnie Peppers

Donnie Guy Peppers, age 75 of Winder, GA passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023. Donnie was a lifelong resident of Winder and a 1967 graduate of Winder Barrow High School. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army where he was a Green Beret and a Paratrooper. After his time in the military he worked as a brick mason. Donnie was a member of St. Anthony's Episcopal Church in Winder. He loved karaoke and dancing and was a member of the Jug Tavern Squares. He also enjoyed wood crafting and photography.

Donnie was predeceased by his parents, John Guy and Dorothy Valentine Carey Peppers, his brother, Johnny David Peppers, and his sister, Dorothy Jean Wheeler. He is survived by his daughter, Leanne Peppers of Athens; brothers: Rickey (Dawn) Peppers and Wayne (Joanne) Peppers, both of Winder; sister: Louise (Johnny) Clack of Winder; brother-in-law, Jimmy Wheeler of Bethlehem and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home in Winder, GA. The funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in Smith Memory Chapel. Donnie will be laid to rest in Barrow Memorial Gardens, Winder, GA.
