Eddie Edwards, age 65, of Winder, GA, died Thursday, August 7, 2014. After graduating from Winder-Barrow High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving two terms in Vietnam. Eddie was a former chief deputy with the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office, later served as Barrow County Coroner, and was employed with the Barrow County Airport for many years. Eddie is survived by sons, Kelley Edwards and daughter-in-law, Kelly, of Winder; and Lance Edwards and daughter-in-law, Kristy, of Gainesville; step-daughter, Jessica and Thomas Seymoor-Parker, San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren, Jared, Cade, Dylan, Noah, Kaitlyn and Jordan; sisters, Anne Conner, of Oakwood, and Janice Mulligan, of Winder. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Gabriel and his father Lewis James Edwards, Sr. The family will receive friends on Sunday, 1:00 to 4:00 pm, with the funeral service to be held immediately following at 4:00 pm. in the Smith Memory Chapel.
