Ernest Sylvester Dye Jr., 87, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025. He was a native of Council Bluff, Iowa. Ernest was preceded in death by his loving wife of 28 years, Fannie Lee Boatfield Dye; his parents, Ernest Sr. and Pearl Belt Dye; a son, Ernest Dye III and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sons, Calvin Dye (Peggy) of Lawrenceville and Fredrick Dye (Christa) of Auburn; his daughters, Teresa Jordan (Al) of Winder, Vickey Spradlin (Robert) of Alabama, Twyla Swift (Joe) of Eatonton, Patti Daniels (Rickey) of Dacula and Christina Jeffries (David) of Winder. A host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, December 29, 2025 at Barrow Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA.
