

Horace J Cain, age 83 of Winder, GA, passed away on February 18, 2026. Horace was born in the Harbins Community of Gwinnett County to the late Elbert L. and Sallie Stinchcomb Cain. He served his country in the Army National Guard. Horace worked as a supervisor for Pittman Construction Company. He loved his church, Whistleville Christian, and was a very active member. He enjoyed tinkering around in his barn and was well known for his yearly tomato garden. Horace was a proud grandpa and loved supporting the grandkids sporting activities. His morning routine centered around coffee with the R.O.M.E.O.s (Retired Old Men Eating Out). Horace was a member of the Statham American Legion.
In addition to his parents, Horace was predeceased by his siblings: Leonard Cain, Jimmy Cain, Grace Stanley, and Gladys Henderson. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Edna Cain. Horace is also survived by his daughter, Desa Doster-Rutledge; sons, Greg Clifton (Melissa) and Bernard Bailey Jr.; grandchildren: Brian Doster (Candace), Carter, Adele, and Landon Clifton and great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Aiden and Mason Doster.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, February 23 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA. His Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, February 24 at 1:45 pm in Smith Memory Chapel. The service will be officiated by Rev. John Burchfield and Rev. Ray Fumea. Horace will be Laid to Rest at Barrow Memorial Gardens.
