Winder, Ga.
Josephine S. Moon, age 99, died Thursday October 15, 2015. A native of Barrow County. Mrs. Moon was the daughter of the late James Wiley and Juliet Maxey Bracewell Saunders. Mrs. Moon was a Barrow County Historian, First lady police woman of City of Winder in 1955, worked for Barrow County Training Center as a Aid with children. Mrs. Moon was a charter member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Survivors include children; Diane (Bob) Dixon and Susan Moon; sister; Caroline Wallace; sister in law; Eunice Saunders; son in law; Winston Anderson; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00am at Smith Memory Chapel. Burial will follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens. Rev. Tim Aaron will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Sunday at the funeral home.
