Juanita Anthony

Juanita was born in Thomaston, Georgia on January 5, 1941, to the late Clarence Edgar and Eva Mae Smith Bishop. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Pam Barrick and granddaughter Nicole Millen Lopez.

Juanita went back to college at the age of 44 and graduated with her RN degree. She worked as a nurse in Athens at Athens Regional Medical Center and St. Mary's Hospital before opening her own Personal Care Home at her residence. She loved caring for others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and she will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her husband, Alton E. Anthony. She is also survived by her daughters, Julie Cohron and Carla Brinkworth; grandsons Paul Barrick, Dustin Colwell, Ryan Brinkworth, and Brannon Brinkworth; and 6 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Mrs. Anthony will be held at Barrow Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Smith Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until just prior to service time.
