Mavis Woods Darnell

Mavis Woods Darnell, 76 of Bethlehem, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023. She was a member of Bethlehem Church since 2004, where she enjoyed activities with her senior group, especially playing dominos. Mavis graduated high school in and was a native of Trion, GA. She retired as a logistics clerk, working for Modern Warehousing. Mavis was an avid reader who also loved quilting and puzzles. She loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Carlton and Hazel Stephens Woods and her loving husband of 51 years, Perry Darnell. Her survivors include her three sons: Dennis Darnell of Monroe, Jeff Darnell (Amy) of Buckhead and Michael Darnell (Cheryl) of Bethlehem; her daughter, Vicky Adams (Joey) of Dacula; and six grandchildren: Virginia Hatcher (Hayden), Katelynn Darnell, Grace Adams, Kyle Darnell, Ella Adams and Colt Darnell.

A celebration of Mavis’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 21, 2023 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA.
