Robert Eugene Moore, Sr.

Robert Eugene Moore, Sr., 70 of Winder, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024. He was a native of South Carolina and had lived most of his life in Georgia. Robert spent his career as a carpenter and enjoyed collecting coins. He was a member of The Church at War Hill, south campus and attended The Winder Apostolic Church of The Lord Jesus Christ. He was a loving companion that would do anything for his best friend and wife.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Lt. Benjamin Moore and Wilmeria Wright Moore. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Dodd of Winder; his son, Robert Eugene Moore Jr. of Augusta; his daughter, Virginia Moore (Theodore) of Augusta; step-children: Mark Dodd (Laura) of Union City, April Gearin (Donald) of Hull, Mary Davis of Texas, and Margie Martin (Chris) of Auburn; brothers, James Thomas (Cathy) and Johnny Terry, both of South Carolina; sisters, Rosemary Aldridge of Macon and Darlene Fontaine of Columbia, SC; an aunt, Libby Smith; grandchildren, Dena Taylor and Pamela Simpson of Augusta; 3 great-grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; and 8 step great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 3PM Sunday, January 21, 2024 at The Church at War Hill - South, 116 Sarah Street, Winder, with Brother Tommy Baker and Pastor Steve Price officiating.
