Sally Ann Rasmussen, age 91, of Winder, GA, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025. She was born in Rome, NY, to the late Roy Burkhart, Sr. and Alberta Cable Burkhart. She moved to Winder from the Atlanta area in 2004. Sally was a loving mother and homemaker. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and going to casinos. She volunteered in the gift shop at the hospital in Winder, logging more than 2600 hours. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and playing Bridge. Sally attended Nativity Lutheran Church in Bethlehem.
In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Erwin Rasmussen. She is survived by her children: Gary (Barbara) Rasmussen of Marietta, Cathy (Dale) Howard of Monroe, and Robin (Bob) Rasmussen-Neville of Winder; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Noraine Hilderbrandt of Taberg, NY.
A graveside funeral service for Sally will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Barrow Memorial Gardens, 793 Atlanta Hwy, SE, Winder, GA. Pastor Julie Ehlers-King will officiate.
