Sarah Murphy Barron, age 77 of Monroe, passed away Monday, October 28, 2019. She was a member of Bold Springs United Methodist Church and served various duties there over the years. Sarah was an insurance broker since 1971 and retired from Jim Anderson and Company. She loved her family, reading, decorating and taking care of her plants. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Guy Otis and Allie Octavia Bailey Murphy; her husband of 20 years, James Barron; a son, Shannon Murphy Ewing; a grandson, Henry Mills Ewing; a step-son, James Michael Barron; three brothers, Hugh, Guy and Leon Murphy and two sisters, Bobbie King and Louise Hall. She is survived by a son, H. Pettit Ewing (Martha) of Ellisville, MS; a daughter, Marie Barron Plymail of Winder; a daughter-in-law, Lori Ewing of Dacula; seven grandchildren, Steven, Kaylee and Bailey Ewing, James Glenn(Alicia), Nicholas Paul, Chelsea and Jalyn Barron and a great-grandchild, James Benjamin Barron. A memorial service will be held at Bold Springs United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 2, 2019 with Pastor Mike Devine officiating, the family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
