

William “Bill” Worthington, age 80 of Braselton, passed away Monday, February 01, 2016. He was a member of Winder First United Methodist Church. He was in the baking industry most of his life and retired from Flowers Industries. Bill was a veteran, serving his country in The US Navy Reserves. He was an avid golfer and he loved to read. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas L. and Margaret Hoffmeyer Worthington and a son, Greg Worthington. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Doris Cochran Worthington of Braselton; three sons, Timothy W. Worthington (Tabatha) of Jasper, William M. Worthington of Smyrna and Scott McHugh of Alpharetta; a daughter, Tammy Young of Monticello; a sister, Roberta Buswell of TX; five grandchildren, Jeremy Young, Ben and Alex Worthington, Jennifer Baker and Brian McHugh; and three great-grandchildren, Chase and Catilyn Young and Kairi Baker. A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Tippens officiating. Interment will follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Winder First United Methodist Church
