Barbara Nenone Donaldson

Barbara passed away on June 20, 2013 in her 101st year. Daughter to Charles S. and Nenone King (Carling) of Walkerville (Windsor), Ontario. Beloved wife of the late C.W. Donaldson Q.C.; adored mother of Peter (Barbara), Walter (Carole) and Susan Freeman (Derek), grandmother to six, and great grandmother to five. Predeceased by her three sisters Elizabeth, Joan, and Anne (Turner), and brother Peter (Jessie). She will be remembered for her love, grace, charm, enthusiasm and genuine warmth which created long lasting and deep friendships. In her early years she attended schools in Quebec, the United States and France, travelled widely with her parents and friends, returning to Windsor where she worked for the Welcome Wagon before settling down and performing volunteer work with many organizations while raising her children. Renowned for her homemade pies along with other culinary abilities she was a wonderful hostess for family and friends. Her company will be missed. Family wishes to thank the staff at Brouillette Manor, Tecumseh, for their kind, compassionate care and assistance during Barbara’s last few weeks. Arrangements entrusted to Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre. Memorial visitation will take place at St. Mary’s Anglican Church (1983 St. Mary’s Gate, Walkerville) on Monday, June 24, 2013 from 10:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. For those who wish, and in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
