Catherine Vass

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Cathy. Catherine passed away at Windsor Regional Hospital, Met Campus on June 19, 2015. Catherine was born in Toronto on February 16, 1911, the oldest of nine children born to Charles and Catherine (nee Flood) Wells. Later after moving to Windsor she married Arthur Vass who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by one son Arthur. She is survived by one sister Doris Barr of Scarborough ON, two grandsons, Adam Vass (Michael Taylor) of London, England and Mark (Lisa) Vass, two great-grand daughters, Quinn and Jessica Vass all of Kingston On. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Cathy was an avid bowler and bridge player. She was a long-time member of St. John’s Anglican, Sandwich and later St. Aidan’s Anglican Church. Cremation has taken place. The family would like to thank Lola and Burt Gaudet as well as John Best and Dorothy Stadler for their continued support and compassion provided to Cathy over the years. A celebration of her life will be held in the chapel of the Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre, 1969 Wyandotte St. E. on Tuesday June 23, 2015 at 11am followed by interment at Victoria Memorial Gardens. Archdeacon Jane Humphreys officiating.
