Claire Paquette

Claire went to be reunited with her family in Heaven. She passed peacefully on August 10, 2017 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by her parents, Midas John Paquette and Lucille Marie Paquette (nee King) and her brother Father Ronald Gilbert Paquette. Surviving are her sister Denise McLean and her nieces, Stephanie, Meredith and Skylaire as well as Michael and Marianne Ouellette of Tilbury. She will be greatly missed by her many friends, especially Florence Davies and Rick Thorburn. Claire attended St. Francis Elementary School and Tilbury District High School and was a successful and enthusiastic athlete. She was also a student at the University of Windsor. She held the position of President of the Tilbury Tennis Club as well as various other organizations in the Kent County community. She was elected to the Tilbury Town Council and was an advocate for many women’s issues during her time in public office.

After she relocated to Windsor, she dedicated her career to advancing seniors’ concerns. She sat on many committees for the City of Windsor after her retirement from Devonshire Retirement Home. At her request there was no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society may be made.
