He passed away on Thursday, February 4th, 2021, leaving behind his wife of 52 years Carole, three sons Jason, Adam and Ben, and two daughter in-laws Sarah and Carrie. Also left behind were his four wonderful grandchildren: Abigail, Lilly, Riley and Julia.
He was born in Sarnia, Ontario in 1946, where he played competitive golf as a junior. He attended the University of Western Ontario, and graduated medical school in 1970. Eventually, Dr. Carswell set up practise in Harrow, Ontario where he worked tirelessly with Anna and others for nearly four decades, serving the community with unwavering effort (retiring in 2016).
His passions outside of work included boating at the Windsor Yacht Club, golfing, playing pool and vacationing with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by anybody LUCKY enough to have met him.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Met ICU, nurses, nurse practitioners, and a special thanks to Dr. Dhar. Donations can be made to the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association in his honour. There will be a Celebration of Life for friends and family in the summer when weather and local social gathering restrictions permit.
Rest in peace. Forever remembered, smiling gently in our hearts.
