Our mother passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County with her family at her side. In the midst of us telling a hilarious story about her seeing the movie, Avatar, at the age of 82, and wearing 3D glasses for the first time she quietly slipped away to the sound of our voices.
Mother to eleven children, she will be greatly missed. Leaving Mary Elizabeth Stuart Morris (Don, deceased), Elizabeth Ann Macdonell (Alan, deceased), Lucinda Morris, Jennifer Innocente (Leo), Deborah Ruth Morris (deceased), Melissa Morris French (Russell), Martha Morris - Fathers (Brian), Gilbert Morris (Anne Marie), Andrew Morris (Janine), Christopher Morris (Kimberly Ann), and Sarah Morris Weinburg (Christian). Grandmother to 15 and great grandmother to 9 children.
A remarkable strong woman, she went back to nursing school at 47 years of age and spent 15 years working at Riverview Hospital caring for the elderly. She loved travelling and did everything from camping in Nova Scotia to luxury cruises.
She loved quilting, sewing, crocheting and knitting and she never sat idle. She was a force to behold and a role model to her children. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
As per the wishes of Elizabeth, cremation has taken place.
Visitation will take place at Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre (1969 Wyandotte ST. E. 519-252-5711) on Friday April 20, 2018 from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., with a time of memory sharing at 11:30 a.m.
