Esther Center (AH)

Elaine Center passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on November 1, 2026 at 102 years old. Elaine was born on September 23, 1924 in Newark, New Jersey and spent most of her life in Windsor, Ontario and Florida. Elaine was married to Samuel Center z"l in 1943 with whom she shared 4 amazing kids, Rosalyn, Lyn, Sandi, and Jeffrey z"l. After Sam passed, Elaine got together with Sid Weinstein z"l. They had a wonderful life together in Florida. Elaine is survived by 3 of her children, Rosalyn, Lyn, and Sandi, as well as her son-in-law, Melvin, her 6 grandchildren, Andrew, Rob, Allyson, Anna, Suzanne and Michael, her 13 great-grandchildren, Haylee, Ben, Jada, JJ, Carly, Samantha, Jasmine, Miriam, Aaron, Rachel, Natalie, Oliver and Charlotte. Elaine loved her family very much and she was so proud to see what she had created.

Elaine lived her life with elegance, working at a fashion boutique and making sure that while she always looked her best as others did too. Elaine was a fantastic cook, known best for her kugel recipe. She loved all food, including chicken wings, pad thai, and most importantly, chocolate. Elaine was so encouraging of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and with her loving support, pushed them all to be their best.

A graveside service will be on Monday, November 2, 2023 at 2:30 p.m., Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery, 2650 Pillette Road, Windsor, Ontario, N8T 1R1 with Rabbi Sholom Galperin officiating.
