Gates – Florence, 98 years, peacefully at home on June 14, 2013. Beloved Wife of the late George Vernord (1998). Loving mother to Phyllis, late Richard (2007), Larry (Mira) and Cheryl Leyland (Shaun). Dearest grandmother to Rick, Randy, Michael, Cassandra, Tracie, Richard, Peter, Jennifer, Catharine, Holly, Christopher and David. Dear great-grandmother to fifteen and great-great grandmother to four. Florence is predeceased by her parents; Charles Richard and Iva May and by her eight brothers and two sisters. Florence was a long-time member of St. David’s Anglican Church. Friends and family will be received at the Walter D, Kelly Life Celebration Centre, 1969 Wyandotte St. E., on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The celebration of her life will be held at St. David’s Anglican Church, 3401 Byng Road on Wednesday June 19, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. till time of service at 11:00 a.m. Canon Sue Paulton officiating. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. David’s Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
