

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 82 years of age. Beloved husband of Sandy for 59 years. Cherished Dad of Sherrie Shelley (Ted), Sharlene Wilson (Chuck) and Brian Banwell (Rhonda). Proud grandfather of Sara (Bryan), Alan, Andrea, Brett and great-grandfather of Brayden. Predeceased by parents Louis (1976) and Dorothy Banwell (1984), his brother Larry Banwell (2005) and his son-in-law Gary Wilson (2003). Frank was a retiree of Ford Motor Company and a member of Unifor Local #200. Frank spent many hours coaching and convening Riverside Minor Hockey, coached the Belle River Jr. C's and gave time to the Windsor Bull Dogs. He was also an avid fan of the WWE and enjoyed golfing. He will be sadly missed by many friends and family as well as all of the other lives he touched. Many thanks for the compassionate care from the nurses and staff at CCAC and The Hospice of Windsor & Essex County. Memorial Visitation will be held at the Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre, 1969 Wyandotte Street East, (519) 252-5711 on Wednesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service to celebrate Frank's life will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to either The Hospice of Windsor & Essex County or to The Ronald McDonald House would be appreciated by the family.
