John Louis Fontaine passed peacefully in the presence of his daughter (Nicole) on September 30th, 2026 at 80 years old. Windsor Essex Hospice took exceptional care of John in his final days, after a year-long battle with cancer.

Cherished father and brother, John was a proud member of CAW Local 195, serving at Vets Cab for decades. John aided in unionizing Vets Cab in 1996, maintaining strong union values his entire life.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial visiting will be held at Anderson Funeral Home (895 Ouellette Ave) at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 5th, followed by a Memorial Service at 12 p.m. John’s ashes will be spread on Manitoulin Island, per his request. John will be remembered for his kind heart, intelligence, passion for fitness, and love for animals.
