Born in Stephenville, Newfoundland, Kerrie was a beautiful soul with a gentle heart, a wonderful sense of humour, and an imagination as colourful as the world she loved. She found beauty in life's little wonders — music, art, nature, the stars, and the simple moments that so often mean the most. Her creativity, curiosity, and appreciation for the world around her were reflected in everything from her artwork to the stories she shared.
Kerrie had a special way of leaving an impression on the people who knew her. She was thoughtful, funny, intelligent, and fiercely loyal to those she cared about. When Kerrie loved someone, she loved them with her whole heart. Her laughter, her beautiful smile, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her will be deeply missed.
Cherished daughter of Sharon and Robbie, and adored sister to Erica and Jacob, the memories they made will remain with them always.
From the very beginning, Kerrie brought an extraordinary amount of love and joy into her family. She held a special place in the hearts of her grandparents, Gina and Gerry Boland, and the late Margaret and Bob Slaney, who cherished her deeply and shared countless treasured memories with her throughout her life.
Of all the beautiful things Kerrie brought into the world, her greatest achievement was becoming a mother to Adrienne and Raiden. Her children held a place in her heart that words could never fully express. In their eyes, she was as bright as the sunflowers, as magical as the stars, and as unforgettable as the music she loved. Kerrie adored her children, and the love they shared will always be a part of them.
Kerrie leaves behind her beloved children, Adrienne and Raiden Smith; her mother, Sharon Slaney, and stepfather, David Bouzane; her father, Robbie Boland, and stepmother, Arleen Quann; her sister, Erica Boland, and brother, Jacob Bouzane; and her grandparents, Gina and Gerry Boland. She will also be lovingly remembered by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Margaret and Bob Slaney; her uncle Wayne; and her cousin Olivia. There is comfort in believing she has been reunited with those she loved so dearly.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the extraordinary ICU team at Windsor Regional Hospital, with special thanks to Dr. Masri and Charge Nurse Jacqueline. Their unwavering dedication, kindness, and compassion went far beyond medical care. During the most difficult days of our lives, they surrounded our family with patience, understanding, and genuine care. Their efforts and the comfort they provided will never be forgotten.
A special thank you is also extended to Kerrie’s friends Sharon and Teddy for being there when she needed them most.
Thirty-eight years was nowhere near enough time with Kerrie. There were so many more memories to make, stories to share, and moments to cherish. Though her time here was far too short, the beauty she brought into the world and the memories she leaves behind will remain with those who knew her.
May she find peace among the stars, surrounded by all the beauty she saw in the world.
