Beloved husband for almost sixty years of Doris Aileen (Puddy), father of Sheila Gordon, (John Clark), and grandfather of Christopher Clark (Danica), and Daniel Clark, all of Windsor. Predeceased by his father Alexander, mother Sarah (Gould), brother Chester (Faye), sister Orma (Andy Proctor), and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edward and Irene Puddy.
Morey will be missed by his many nephews and nieces, and his friends at Kensington Retirement Home and Huron Lodge.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the caring staff on the Magnolia Floor at Huron Lodge, family physician Dr. Day, and Dr. Hirmiz of Windsor Regional Cancer Centre. Morey’s rich life included fifteen years as Deputy Clerk of the City of Toronto - the culmination of a 42 year career. His work there was interrupted for five years in the service of our country in World War II with The Queen’s Own Rifles Regiment. Morey was a voracious reader who would devour the three Toronto newspapers on a daily basis. He was a sports lover, a Blue Jays fan, and he cherished his only hole in one from his years of winter golf in Florida. Together with Aileen, Morey spent many a weekend on baseball diamonds and basketball courts across Ontario, cheering for his grandsons. A visitation will take place at Walter D. Kelly Funeral Home on Tuesday May 4th from 5 to 8 p.m. A memorial service in celebration of Morey’s life will be held at Huron Lodge, 1881 Cabana Road West, Windsor, at noon on Saturday May 15th, Reverend Bev Diet officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Morey’s memory may be directed to The Foundation Fighting Blindness to further Stargardt macular dystrophy research, 12th Floor, 890 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario, M4W 3P4, or online at https://ffb.donorportal.ca., or to Windsor Regional Cancer Center Foundation, 2220 Kildare Road, Windsor, Ontario N8W 2X3.
