

LaVerne Lossing Williams, 75, of Fort McDermitt, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. She was born on January 12, 1937 in Fort McDermitt, Nevada to Harry Lossing and Josie Cracker. She was married to Roy Williams who preceded her in death. LaVerne was a cook at Say When Casino, a housemaid and for Julio and Julie Mori Meats. She was a member of the Native American Church. She enjoyed beadwork, sewing, making pies, fishing, camping, picking berries and cooking for ceremonies and special occasions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, her father Harry Lossing and her mother Josie Crutcher Cracker. She is survived by her children Estelle (Alvery) Jackson of Fernley, Nevada, Clark (Jolene) Abel of Nixon, Nevada, Levi Abel Jr. of McDermitt, Zelda Lossing of Fort Hall, Idaho, Jennifer Garfield of Fort McDermitt, Nevada, Linda (Harry) Thompson of Nixon, Nevada, LaVerne Gallardo, Augustine (Erica) Gallardo. She is also survived by numerous grand children, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday October 6, 2012 at the Fort McDermitt Youth Center with Marty Barlese officiating.
