Adeline Eleanor Regitnig (nee Bargenda), age 82, passed peacefully on April 17. She was raised in Hadashville and a resident of St. Vital, Manitoba. Left to mourn are daughter Kim, nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was pre-deceased by her parents John and Violet, daughter Tracy and beloved husband Kurt.
Adeline ran the house, raised the children and kept things together while Kurt was out on the road. She had many interests over the course of her life, including bowling, bingo, ceramics, and embroidery. She loved gardening, preserving the fruits and vegetables she harvested and keeping track of the birds that visited the yard (especially noting the arrival of the first robin in spring). But we all know her favorite thing was going out for breakfast. The door at “Mom’s Truck Stop” was always open to anyone who stopped by and she was quick to offer a snack, meal or cup of tea.
Adeline always said she wanted to enjoy the flowers while she was alive, not after she was gone. In keeping with her wishes, in lieu of flowers please donate to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, MB.
