Alberto “Boy” Ramos was a well-loved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, adored by everyone in his life. He was a man of few words, but also an amazing story-teller. He was a humble, hard-working, and devoted father, doing whatever he could to support his family. He moved to Canada in 1974, bringing his mother and siblings here for a better life. He was an accomplished and well-respected Lab Technician at Grace Hospital, where he worked for over 30 years. He also worked and gained many friends through Trainor Lab, now Gamma-Dynacare. He truly was the best at what he did, and left a lasting impact to all those he met. His favourite things to do were making others laugh, walking around St. Vital mall, getting haircuts from his son, and eating out with his children. His favourite memories include going to Hawaii and the Philippines with his family, and spending time with his siblings in B.C.
After a month long battle with cancer, Alberto peacefully passed away on August 15, 2017, surrounded by his wife, Teresa, and his children, Stephen, Sharon, and Scott, as well as many loved ones. He will be joining his parents, Alfredo and Fe Ramos in Heaven, and remembered dearly by his siblings, Aida (Roger), Alfonso (Sandra), Agnes (Chito), Antonio, Armando, Alfredo (Marissa), Angelina (Doug), and his many nephews and nieces.
A lamay will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 6:00 pm at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
A funeral Mass will held be on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 am at Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Drive, with burial and reception to follow at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home and Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Alberto’s life.
Thank you to all of our friends and family for their love and support, and to all the staff at Grace Hospital (3N), and HSC (H6, and A3) who took care of our dad.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Cancer Care Manitoba in his name.
