(Sandy)
Our beloved Auntie Sandy began her life on January 07, 1926 and finished living, peacefully, on September 25, 2015 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s.
Her career included 30 years and 10 months at Air Canada in both Winnipeg and Vancouver before retiring as an International Reservation Agent in 1985.
Her life style was one of “Joie de Vivre” and Sandy loved to travel around the world sharing the exotic experiences with many friends. Our Family’s own “Auntie Mame” could hardly wait to regale us with stories of her travel and gift us each with some small memory of that trip.
Sandy always brought joy to everyone she touched, family, friends, workmates, even the person in front of her in the line of the grocery store. She was unique and a joy to know.
She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her Sister Rosalie McLoughlin, her many nieces and Nephews: Kym Wiebe (Ed), Susan Townsend (Tom), Stacy Pendree (Warren), Joan Green (Vern), Shaun McLoughlin, Brett McLoughlin (Debbie), Blair McLoughlin (Alise), Paul Werry (Beth), Alan Lowery (Pam), Grant Lowery, and a whole bunch of grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at West Park Manor for their tender loving care and close family contact during the 14 years Sandy considered that to be her home.
Sandy has been cremated and an interment with family will be held at a later date.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 -120 Donald Street. Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 204-943-6622 | 1-800-378-6699
