Anna Peterson

(nee Karlenzig)

Peacefully on April 24, 2012, Anna Peterson (Karlenzig), affectionately known to some as as "Aunt Babe", passed away at the age of 104 years, at Bethania Personal Care Home. Anna was only a few months away from celebrating her 105th birthday (July 21). Anna was predeceased by her husband Harvey Robert Peterson in 1951 and their only child Harold Robert Peterson in 1997, as well as many brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Mary (Hank), grandchildren Harvey (Deanna), David (Shawna), Z'Anne (Jim), and great grandchildren Eric, Cheyenne and Jamie. Anna, the youngest child of a large family, outlived all of her eight siblings in addition to many friends she had made throughout her "over a century" lifespan. Anna grew up in a rural community in the Lowe Farm/Morris, MB area until she married and moved to Winnipeg. She worked for many years at Seaway Midwest Storage. Anna was happiest when surrounded by family and friends and up until she reached her mid-90's, she delighted in cooking delicious German meals when they came to visit. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at Bethania Personal Care Home for their patience and care extended to Anna during her residence with them. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Thomson Funeral Home.
