Antonio Falvo

It is with profound sadness, and immense gratitude for a life well lived, that we announce the passing of Antonio Falvo, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Antonio was predeceased by his parents Basilio and Serafina Falvo. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of over 51 years, Maria, his children Anthony (Catherine) and Sara-Marie Falvo Medeiros (Neal) and precious grandchildren Gabriella, Stella, Mason, and Mila. He is also survived by his siblings Bettina, Antonietta, Caterina and Pasquale and many nieces and nephews.

Antonio was born on January 10, 1941, in Amato, Italy. Seeking greater opportunities, his father immigrated to Canada, working tirelessly to establish a home before bringing the rest of the family to join him.

In December 1956, at the age of 15, Antonio arrived in Winnipeg for a joyful reunion with his father. The family settled in Transcona, where Antonio embraced his new country with determination. He attended night classes at Kelvin High School, working hard to learn English while building a new life in Canada.

Antonio first trained as a tailor, but quickly realized the profession was not for him. Luckily for all of us he found his calling in hairstyling.

That decision would shape the rest of his life. Antonio built a successful hairstyling business in Transcona that proudly served the community for more than 50 years. Anthony`s Beauty Stylists became much more than a place for haircuts—it was a gathering place filled with laughter, stories, and friendship. While clients came for his talent, they returned for his warmth, humour, and endless conversation. He also became the unofficial hairstylist for countless family members and friends, always ready with a trim and an even better story. His customers loved him so much that they held an annual birthday party at the salon—a testament to the friendships he built with everyone who walked through his door.

Maria entered his life, bringing the perfect partnership. They married in 1975 and built a loving home together. They welcomed their beloved children, Anthony soon followed by Sara-Marie, creating a lifetime of cherished family memories. Together, they enjoyed countless family trips. Antonio embraced fatherhood with enthusiasm, always finding ways to make life fun. To his children, he was not only a devoted father but also a hero.

Nothing brought Antonio greater joy than watching his family grow and becoming a Nonno. He lovingly cared for his four grandchildren—Mason, Mila, Gabriella, and Stella—until each began school. Rain, snow, or cold weather never prevented him from fulfilling the role he treasured most. His grandchildren will forever remember his kindness, humour, generosity, and unconditional love.

Antonio will be remembered for his infectious laugh, generous heart, gift for conversation, unwavering work ethic, and his remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. He touched countless lives through his work, his friendships, and his devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the laughter he inspired, the love he shared, and the family he cherished above all else.
