

He will be loved and missed forever by his son, Ken (Marilyn); his daughter, Robyn (James); his grandchildren, Melanie (Josh), Kathleena and Brennan; his sister, Isabel (Bill) and brother-in-law Bill (Marilyn) and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jean and his son, Ron.
Known to friends and family as a friendly, warmhearted and cheerful man, his loving nature would always shine through. His sense of humour, infectious smile and contagious laugh brightened our days.
Archie was born on April 30, 1930 in Dauphin, MB, where he was raised with his four siblings. He worked for CN for over 40 years in Winnipeg and Edmonton. His work as a steward on the business cars were some of his happiest days.
Along with his wife Jean, his lifelong love, they raised Ken, Ron and Robyn in their Winnipeg home. Archie’s commitment to his community included serving on City Council and coaching hockey and baseball. Cottage life brought much joy to his family for many years.
A celebration of Archie’s life will take place on Friday, March, 13, 2015 at 10:00 am in the chapel at the Seine River Retirement Residence, 1015 St. Anne’s Road.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Arthritis Foundation.
