I attended nursing school with Barb at the Grace General Hospital in Winnipeg, and just saw her recently at our reunion in June.

40 years later, she was the same lovely, wonderful, positive Barb that I remembered from nursing school.

I am so sad for your loss.

Barb,
You have left us far too soon.
Who am I going to spend two hours on the phone while we solved all the worlds problems, good thing we had long distance plans.
I remember our mornings when you were still in Nanaimo, there would be a quiet tap on my door and there you would be, just after getting off your night shift at the hospital. We would sit in my kitchen and have coffee and toast and talk and laugh before you headed home to start your day there. How special were those mornings.
You looked after our grandchildren as they came into the world and myself through a difficult surgery, even though it was not your ward. You put the quiet fear of Nurse Barb into making sure I was well looked after.
Although we started as friends we quickly became more like family.
Jerry and I will miss your lovely smile, your sparkling eyes and your alway optimistic but gentle nature.

Till we meet again be assured Kath-Lynn and Stevan will be surrounded by family and friends.
With love
Edwina and Jerry

Your Mum, Barb,
was a ray of sunshine each time she called in to my sister Edwina on her way home from work. when I would be there on holidays from Ireland. I loved to see her smiling face and we all had a laugh with her dry sense of humour. She is someone I have never forgotten although it is quite a few years since I saw her. I sympathise with you on your loss.
