We are saddened to announce the passing of Beatrice Christina Leisle. Beatrice was born to Fred and Molly Gerl, in Morse, SK on June 15, 1933; the second of four children. She left her earthly life on June 5, 2026 to be at eternal rest with her husband David and her son James who predeceased her.
Mom leaves to mourn daughters Barbara Leisle (Patti Hicks), Charlene Leisle, and Kathryn Nordman (Conrad). She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren Brendon Marek, Justin Marek (Jenna Johannsen), Riley Nordman (Amy Martin), and Mikayla Nordman (Julian Plater). She also leaves many extended family and close friends who lovingly referred to her as Aunty Bea.
Known for her hospitality and baking prowess many would look forward to Mom’s chocolate chip cookies, iced sugar cookies, Nanaimo Squares, and Christmas Cherry Balls…only a small sampling of her expansive repertoire. Mom loved to cook and entertain, often having coffee with the ladies who lived in the bay. She and Dad also loved having friends from Church and the neighbours in for the occasional Open House, where they would lay on quite the spread.
Sewing was another love of Moms. It was a common occurrence for Mom and Dad to shop for reams of fabric, and then sew matching outfits for Mom and the three girls. Often staying up late into the evening, Mom would sew new outfits for special occasions, so the Leisle girls could all step out in style. She would also sew outfits for James but much to his pleasure he didn’t have to match the girls.
Mom’s faith was very important to her and she was active in her faith journey at St Mark’s Lutheran Church. She was an active member in the Lutheran Church Women (LCW); as a Sunday morning Greeter; as a runner for Meals on Wheels; as a Sunday School teacher; and in Summer Bible Camps.
In her later years, Mom struggled with dementia. Understanding family relationships was hard for her, but she still loved to laugh, hear stories, and reminisce about family adventures. She was still a whipper snapper at word scrabble, word find, and jigsaw puzzles even though her memory was failing.
We would like to thank the staff in The Arbours at Brightwater Senior Living. Staff from Gentle Care at Home sat with Mom in her final days, to ensure she was never alone. We thank them for their compassionate care.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Mom at Thomson "In The Park" on June 16, 2026 at 10:00 am.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in mom’s memory to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or a charity of your choice.
