After a lengthy illness, Bernie passed away on July 14, 2011 at Health Science Centre at the age of 68. He will be lovingly remembered by his family: his mother Pearl Gougeon, his sister Terry (Ed) Koska, his daughters Melinda (Peter) and Amanda, his granddaughter Heather, and mother of his children Stella Sokolowski.
He was predeceased by his father Theodore Fredrick Sokolowski.
Viewing will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011, 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2011, 11:00 a.m. also at Klassen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg R3C 0R9.
