Bernice Doris Kleysen (née Vanderstelt) passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025 in her vacation home in Key Largo, Florida, surrounded by her beloved husband of 68 years, her children, and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Hubert; her children, Brenda (Franz), Tom (Barb), and Rob (Rick); her grandchildren, Karl, Max, Alex, Shannon, and Stephen; and her great-grandchildren, Teo and Stella.
Bernice was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She gave generously of herself to all who were fortunate to know her. Throughout her life, she was always active and volunteered her time to numerous causes, always putting her family, friends, and neighbors at the heart of everything she did. When she wasn’t caring for others, she found joy in her flower gardens, tending them with love and was able to capture their beauty on canvas winning various prizes for her artistic portrayals.
