She is survived by her husband Ray, sons Pat (Teressa), Cliff (Jerry) of New Westminster, British Columbia and Mark (Allison); her grandchildren Zachary, Everett, Treyton, Madisyn, Nathan, Adam and Sarah; and siblings Bobbie, James, Dale and Donna.
She is preceded in death by parents Ted and Irene Mundt; and siblings Val, Karen and Noreen.
Bev courageously battled many serious illnesses and lived every day of her life like it was her last. She remained the eternal optimist throughout her life.
Bev was dedicated to being an advocate for everyone she met. She worked as a Paraprofessional in the River East School Division and tirelessly supported her students in the classroom with patience, empathy and respect regardless of their diverse abilities. Bev's vocabulary never included the word “can't”. She could see and unlock the hidden potential in all her students. Her legacy of hard work, determination and positive thinking will live on in the generations of the students she touched.
Despite Bev's own personal struggles with her declining health, she continued to be a strong advocate, to speak out and comfort those without a voice or who felt lonely in her care home. Her tenacity and extraordinary ability to “live in the now” defied all professional opinions of her life expectancy.
Our family extends sincere thanks and gratitude to all staff at River East Personal Care Home for the kind and caring support they gave Bev.
“There are things that we don't want to happen, but have to accept.
Things we don't want to know, but have to learn.
And people we can't live without, but have to let go.”
