Brenda Rae (Donald) Kansky

After a courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side, Brenda passed away.

Left to mourn is; her husband Gary, her daughter Lisa and her son Jason, her grandchildren Rayna, Jennifer and Tyler, her sister Lori (Frank) and her sisters-in-law Marlene (Pat) and Bonnie, numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

Brenda is predeceased by; her parents, Chuck and Marg, her brother Blake, her sister-in-law Barbie and her niece Reagan.

Brenda grew up in a tight knit family in the Lord Robert’s area of Winnipeg and lived in the area most of her life. Summers were spent making great memories at the family cabin. Brenda was the greatest sister ever.

Brenda met Gary, fell in love, and had 53 happy years together. Brenda and Gary had 2 children Lisa and Jason. Brenda’s priority in life was being the most dedicated, loving and hard-working wife and mom. She loved seeing Lisa’s most recent craft project and watching Jason’s sporting events hockey soccer and football How she loved her family pets and the recent joy of feeding her backyard bunnies.

Brenda started her working career as a Nurses Aid, then as a Unit Clerk, but her love for caring of others was her true calling. Brenda went back to school with 2 young children and got her Registered Nurse designation. How happy Riverview Health centre was to have her back. She spent her nursing years on different wards from palliative care to Alzheimer’s and brain injuries. Brenda loved her work and made many great friendships.

Brenda loved holidays; on Halloween handing out candy to the kids and carving pumpkins and on Christmas Eve hosting a big feast for all to come and enjoy. She always wanted birthdays to be special for everyone.

Summers at the family cabin were always great fun. How Geegee loved having her grandchildren Rayna, Jennifer and Tyler at the cabin with her. Packing up lunches to go to the beach and then an evening bbq. Going for a walk maybe to get an ice cream or to see the sunset, but most important to her was just having them with her.

We will forever miss you Brenda, Bren, Mom, Geegee.
