Carol Ann Wilkins (nee Roberts) was born on January 2, 1945 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) to William and Gertrude Roberts. She passed peacefully away in her sleep at her home in Winnipeg, Manitoba (MB), on August 19, 2016.
Carol was known for her pleasing personality, gentle spirit, kindness, and generosity. She had a compassionate heart, her friendship was contagious and her servant attitude was a testimony of her faith in Jesus Christ. She loved God and dedicated her life to Him, her family and the church. Besides regular church attendance she was involved in Sunday school, children’s ministries, youth activities, women’s ministries, greeter, and care group co-leader. She took a hiatus from work outside the home to be with her two children until both were in elementary school.
Carol worked as an administrative assistant and excelled in her work. For example, at F. G. Bursey Collegiate, Grand Falls-Windsor, where she worked for thirteen years, she was appreciated and received many accolades from the school administration, staff and students alike.
Carol’s hobbies included interior decorating, knitting, other crafts and travelling. She enjoyed travelling to many places with family and friends. In spite of her dementia diagnosis in 2010, she continued to travel and she maintained her gracious personality.
She is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Robert Domino. While pursuing a career herself, she also unselfishly supported her husband as the Lord led them to work in St. John’s, Lewisporte, Grand Falls-Windsor in NL and in Winkler, MB.
Carol is also survived by her son and daughter-in- law Craig and Lori Wilkins, her daughter and son-in-law Susan and Bradley Cull, granddaughter Sarah Cull, grandson Ethan Cull, brother and sister-in-law James and Jessie Roberts, sisters and brothers-in-law Doreen and Ronald Martin, Linda and Melvin Earle, brothers-in-law Fraser Clark and Carl Collins, sisters-in-law Tina Olson and Chloe Reid, and a long list of family, friends, former colleagues, and admirers.
Carol’s life on earth was rich and fulfilling. Her beautiful presence will be sorely missed. Our loss is heaven’s gain.
