He was born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka (Ceylon) on Friday, December 13, 1940 and arrived in Winnipeg on June 1972 where he spent the remainder of his life.
Chelliah will be sadly missed by his wife Nageswary (of 37 years); his daughters Tharmala (Bobby) and Sinthi; sons Ratheesh and Mathan; and three grandchildren Arjun, Amaya and Keeon. He will also be missed by his surviving siblings Padmapathy, Sockalingam, Thialingam and Sivasothy and many close relatives and friends throughout the world.
