With great sadness, we announce the passing of Colin “Clancy” McEachern, peacefully in his sleep on August 2, 2018. Colin was born to James and Angeline McEachern on May 24, 1951, in Winnipeg, MB, and was later joined by his younger brother, Brian. Colin grew up in St. Vital where he attended, and graduated from, Dakota Collegiate. He entered the work force, with his father, at Public Markets and shortly after, began his long term career with the Provincial Government in Falcon Lake, MB, in 1975. Colin fell in love with the little town, turning his summer job into a lifelong career, and home, of 40 years. Beginning as a Marshall on the golf course, he moved to Park Maintenance and then became a Foreman in West Hawk Lake. It is in Falcon Lake that he became better known as ‘”Clancy” to his much loved, small town community. Although he was solitary in his later years, Clancy was an active member of his community and will be remembered for his quiet, yet witty, demeanor. Colin is survived by nieces Shannon (Jason) and Jessica (Mike); great-nephew Trey; great nieces Cassidy and Delaney; cousins Gerry (Diane), Gary (Maryanne), Patrick and Robert (Joyce) and their families. He is predeceased by parents James and Angeline, and brother Brian. Graveside ceremony to be held on Friday, Aug. 10 at 2:00 at St. Vital Cemetery. Reception to follow at Green Acres Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the South East Whiteshell Fire Department.
