It is with extreme sadness that we share the news of Craig Scott’s sudden passing on January 19, 2024 at age 43. Craig was born in Bird’s Hill on May 15, 1980 and lived there his entire life. He was very proud to be from Bird’s Hill and many of his closest friendships to this day are the ones he forged hanging out in the neighborhood.
Anyone who knew Craig knew he had a passion for sports. He played hockey, softball, golf, ultimate, sponge hockey and enjoyed fishing, to name a few. He was always up for a hearty discussion about the Jets, San Francisco 49ers or his beloved Blue Bombers.
Craig had the biggest heart; he was the first person to lend a hand regardless of the circumstance. So many people have said “he would give you the shirt off his back”. He truly shone a light out to everyone around him. We wish he had known the impact he had on those around him and wish he could have taken a little light back for himself.
Craig is survived by his mom (Pat), dad (Bob), siblings Jeff (Carol), Terri (Andrew) and Bryan; nieces and nephews Ashlyn, Larissa, Hunter, Rowan, Kyle and Keira. Uncle Craig was Kyle’s best bud and Kyle misses Uncle dearly.
There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 1:30 to 4:30 at the East St Paul Curling Club (260 Hoddinott Road) upstairs banquet hall. It will be an informal drop in event for a time of sharing stories and laughs. There will be snacks and a cash bar.
If you would like to make a donation, please do so to the Canadian Mental Health Association (https://mbwpg.cmha.ca/connect/donate). We will also be accepting donations at the celebration. All proceeds will go to the Manitoba chapter of the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Craig, the difficult times are behind you, rest in peace. The generosity and light you brought to others will carry on.
