

In the early morning hours of September 10, 2017, Darryl Gordon Willie passed away at Riverview Health Centre. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Enns, daughter, Joy (Gary) Scheurmann, son Rob, grandsons Kyle and Trevor Scheurmann, sister Drinda (Cal Murray) Wood. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lillian in 2002.
Darryl was born to Frank and Marion (Gordon) Willie on October 1, 1940. As a young man he was employed by Manitoba Hydro and enjoyed a 38 year career making many lasting friends along the way. He and Lillian married in 1961 and began a life together raising their family. With the birth of grandsons Kyle and Trevor, Darryl became a proud grandfather and he continued to be the best role model any grandkid could have. His involvement in his family’s life was truly a blessing. After retirement, Darryl immersed himself in volunteering with the Manitoba Electrical Museum and Education Centre, devoting long hours to making it the best he could. At the same time, Darryl also devoted a lot of time to managing the Junior Wesmen. In 2011, Darryl married Bobbie and began another chapter. Together they enjoyed life, travelling and finally settling in their winter home in Texas.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Highway, Winnipeg. Interment will be at a later date.
