Dennis Ernest Gresswell

Peacefully, after a long illness, Dennis Ernest Gresswell, aged 94 passed away at the Grace Hospital on July 11 2026.

He is survived by; his wife Annie Gresswell (nee Unrau ), his loving partner for forty six years, three sons and their families and their many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son.

Dennis immigrated to Canada in 1968 after working for the family business, Gresswell and Son bicycle and repair, followed by time in the Royal Air Force, and then as a guard in the penitentiary service in London.

Upon his arrival in Canada he worked in the campus police department at the University of Manitoba until his retirement in 1991.

In retirement, he devoted himself to his pursuit of music, amassing an enormous collection spanning from the thirties thru the eighties while volunteering as the music librarian for CKVN oldies radio. Dennis was a man of many talents; mechanical, drawing, piano, carpentry, to everything electronic. He was a passionate gardener and an avid golfer who loved his many dogs.

A small service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday July 27th at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, with a reception to follow.

The family thanks all of the homecare workers, the doctors and staff at the Grace Hospital and the funeral home, for the respectful service granted to us.

Donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society in memory of Dennis.
